BPGCD Moves District to Drought Level 3

The image outlines drought Level 3 measures, emphasizing water conservation, restrictions, and strategies like rainwater harvesting.

At the District's November Board meeting, hydrogeologist Neil Deeds gave a presentation on methodology for moving to or from drought levels.  The District had been using month-to-month monitor well water level variances as a drought-level guideline for several years, and had more recently moved to a matrix referencing desired future conditions (DFCs) as a guide.   Deeds demonstrated a new method referencing the past performance of 17 of the District's 25+ monitor wells.   Based on that new information, the Board determined that the District needed to adjust to from drought level 1 to drought level 3.  The Board reviews monitor well data at their monthly meetings and will make future adjustments to drought level determinations as warranted by the data.
