TAGD Groundwater Survey
Texas Water Development Board is Soliciting Feedback to Improve
Non-Surveyed Groundwater Use Estimates
The Texas Water Development (TWDB) has partnered with the Bureau of Economic Geology (BEG) to improve groundwater use estimates across Texas. We are seeking support from groundwater stakeholders in sharing a brief, anonymous survey with well owners. This voluntary survey collects basic information about wells that are not metered and do not otherwise report pumping data.
Collection of accurate well data is a vital component in the assessment of conservation initiatives, efforts to address limited water supplies and facilities in some areas, and to provide for continuing population growth. Responses will help improve groundwater use estimates and support future TWDB planning efforts.
These survey results are anonymous, grouped at the county level, and will not in any way affect the permitting, metering, or regulatory status of respondent’s wells.
Completed surveys accepted through August 31.
